MARK TEMLETT
Born in Helsinki, Mark Temlett is an Anglo-Finnish artist who grew up in Paris. Always passionate about drawing and painting, he spent much of his childhood and adolescence creating characters, drawing his friends in comic strip form, and illustrating short stories.
Although secretly dreaming of an artistic career, Mark pursued higher education in Finance in the United States and then worked in several consulting firms such as Ernst & Young. Subsequently, he made a radical life change to fully devote himself to his passion for drawing and painting.
Mark draws heavily on the world of dreams and the subconscious; it's a true inner adventure. He also draws inspiration from everyday scenes and media, which he interprets in a surrealist style that captivates with its vivid colors and provokes thought with its content.
His works assert themselves fully, for some, in a surrealist style, sprinkled with a "Comic Strip" touch and whimsical flourishes, where his fanciful imagination takes secret passages to wander freely on the paths of the Unconscious.
Mark draws in black and white with India ink on paper, then reproduces the drawing by hand on canvas and adds colors with acrylic paint using a brush for the backgrounds and Posca markers for the illustrations. Mark also uses digital colors on his hand-drawn works.
