Frequently Asked Questions
Here are the answers to your most frequent questions
Are these paintings all originals?
These are indeed original works deposited in our gallery by selected artists. No reproductions or multiple printings, but truly unique canvases.
What if the painting doesn't fit on my wall?
At Art Génération, we give you a three-month reflection period. This gives you time to find the best place for your painting in your home. However, if you find that the painting does not fit into your interior, you can return it to us in exchange for a credit note that you can use when you find the perfect painting, one that will fit perfectly in your home.
Do you have a transport solution?
Of course! We work with carriers that allow us to deliver to our customers all over the world. If you live in Paris and the nearby suburbs, we can even arrange personalized deliveries on the day and time that suits you. The works are packed in specific crates and arrive in perfect condition at their destination. You will only have to hang it on the wall once you have received it.
It's an investment: can I negotiate the price?
The price of the works is determined by the artist. It represents his rating and therefore the value of his work. Consequently, we cannot discuss prices. However, you have the option of paying in several installments if you wish. Depending on the price of the work, we will see together how to stagger the payments.
I want to offer one of your works to a friend. But I'm not sure of his taste...
Rest assured, the two-month exchange period is already a safeguard. Your friend will easily be able to return the canvas you bought for him. In addition, if you are hesitant about choosing a painting, you can opt for a gift voucher of the amount of your choice. This has no expiry date, so your friend can take the time to think about it.
Who is the artist I am buying in your gallery?
The only criterion for selecting our artists is the quality of their work. They all have different backgrounds, different training. The profiles we represent range from young emerging artists, with few exhibitions to their credit, to established artists with auction ratings. So that you know who the artist whose work you are buying is, we prepare informative sheets for you, available in the gallery and on our website.
I really like one of the artists you present, is it possible to follow their work?
If you wish, you can leave us your email address to receive an alert as soon as we receive new canvases from this artist. In addition, you will receive invitations to vernissages, which will allow you to meet your favorite artists.
Your website is very complete but where can I see the works?
The canvases visible on the site are of course present in the gallery. Don't forget to check the exhibition location specified next to each work. Some are indeed exhibited in Paris, others in Brussels. We indicate the opening hours of both galleries, and you will notice, for example, that the Marais gallery in Paris is open every day.
Can I buy works on this site?
Absolutely, in one click you will have acquired a painting, a photograph or a drawing. The purchase of works of art on the internet is a new thing in the cultural landscape and it can sometimes be intimidating. Do not worry about online payment, it is perfectly secure. Payment by check is also possible, just specify it when ordering. You will receive an email asking you to notify us of the date your check was sent. If you are still hesitant or need to see the work visually to appreciate the artist's work, you can request a withdrawal from the gallery, which will give you the possibility to retract.
The photographs are not unique copies, I see several in different formats!
That's absolutely right, art photographs are not unique prints. According to French law, we are limited to 30 copies per photograph, all formats and all media combined. As sales progress, we re-edit a photograph which will be assigned a new print number. Behind the photographs displayed in the showcases, you will notice that we insert a certificate clearly mentioning the number of the photograph, the artist's name and the size.
When you talk about formats and media, what exactly are you talking about?
Technically, it's a print on photographic paper that is then thermally bonded to a 2mm aluminum plate. With this process, no framing is needed, you can attach your photograph directly to the wall. We provide adhesive hangers, but you can also choose as an option a wooden frame glued to the back of the aluminum plate which will allow you to hang your photograph on a nail. Finally, there is another system, called Diasec. The photograph is chemically bonded to the back of a plexiglass plate, which protects it from any shock and deterioration. Like mounting on an aluminum plate, you will attach your plexiglass plate to the wall using adhesive hangers or a wooden frame.
