“The street is full of multiple visual elements that change daily. Through wild posting, we receive ephemeral messages: advertising campaigns, political messages, shows, demands... These posters reflect our society, sometimes making us smile, ponder, or question. They set the tone, carrying the atmosphere of our era. They bear witness to our world with its rebellions, contradictions, excesses, but also its passions, commitments, and pleasures. Poster paper has an unsuspected richness. Through its colors, images, typographies, and textures, it is a primary material of great diversity. Day after day, the passage of time does its work, the posters overlap, blend, transform, decontextualize, and fade away…
I spend a lot of time walking the streets, searching for and collecting these posters. By recovering them torn, worn, or fragmented, I associate them according to my inspiration, juxtaposing elements to give them new meaning. My collages on canvas come to life in my studio as paintings and thus become the expression of a moment in a free artistic approach. The observer then becomes the witness of their own story.”
Self-taught, I reside between Paris and Charente Maritime, where my studio is located. All my creations are made from pieces of posters, glued onto a canvas frame. Acrylic paint may be added to enhance the overall work.
