THE CLOWN ARTIST
L’Artiste Pître is a painter and visual artist who has been active in Paris for the past twenty years. A darling of Île-de-France art shows for her creative madness, vibrant vernissages, and improbable costumes, she consistently offers a whimsical and humorous vision to everything she touches. A fan of extensive collections, with hundreds of original, embossed creations to her credit, she surprises us with exuberant ephemeral décors and dislodges us with unsettling plastic works. Hyper-productive, she always makes sure to take off and land where she is least expected. If you tell her that "ART is DEAD," offended, she will draw and create a road sign to warn you: because with her - eventually - "THE STINGRAY BITES"! QED?
100% self-taught, L’Artiste PITRE has never stopped playing with the brush. From the first scribbles in the margins of her poems in her school notebooks, to her first youthful works on washing machine packaging cardboard, her first cuts with a cutter in the linoleum of her room (making her mother scream), her first paintings as copies-parodies of Master paintings... she owes her know-how and style only to her experiments, her attempts, her research, her failures, and the tenacious continuity of her practice.
Her studies, experiences, and diplomas in the world of theater - for 15 years - allowed her to add to her repertoire this incredible inventiveness of spatial arrangement, decorum, costumes, and a sense of spectacle in her compositions as well as in her fairground vernissages, where animation and thematic folklore thrive and contribute to the joyous chaos of her "improbable" exhibitions... indescribable.
