LARBI ZAIDI

A self-taught painter, he lives and works in Sinceny, Aisne. Attracted to painting at a very young age, he dedicates all his free time to his art. Graduated in Art Therapy, Larbi ZAÏDI has set up several pictorial expression workshops for disabled children. Selected to appear on the "Artension des Singuliers" CD-ROM, this artist has participated in several collective exhibitions. Among the most important are: an exhibition organized by the psychiatric hospital of Péronne as part of a conference on art and madness, an exhibition at the Cirque d'Hiver, and another at the Salon d'Automne de la Grande Motte. Since June 2007, the auction of one of his works under the hammer of Maître Francis FAURE at the Rambouillet auction house has allowed him to be referenced on Artprice.

“The spontaneous and singular dimension of Larbi ZAÏDI’s painting sends us back to the dissidence of our lives. When notations - sometimes indecipherable - mingle with painting to express feeling, one begins to dream of childhood drawings. But the well-defined characters that assert themselves under the black line reflect a difficulty of being that is nothing like a recreation. Larbi ZAÏDI’s painting is in fact a “re-creation”, that of a latent world that moves us. Kandinsky wrote: “The artist who, in his life, resembles children, can achieve the internal harmony of things more easily than others.” This feeling applies in every way to Larbi ZAÏDI.”
