JUAN SPRAY

Juan Spray is a street artist, painter, illustrator, and author from Amiens. He has been involved in the street art movement for nearly ten years and uses various techniques such as collage, stickers, and installations, with stenciling remaining his preferred technique.

He is known for his signature characters "the Sprayitos," urban creatures that are half imp, half spray can, which he depicts in the street or on canvas. Through his creations, he conveys positive messages; the word "Love" is often present and repeated like a mantra.

Having grown up in the 1980s, Juan Spray was immersed in pop culture and the emergence of hip-hop culture in France, which is strongly reflected in his work. With humor, he merges the codes and iconography of different universes and draws inspiration from artists such as Banksy, Kaws, and Takashi Murakami.

In September 2020, he published his first illustrated children's book titled "Les contes de SprayLove Island" (The Tales of SprayLove Island), a story that introduces young children to the art of graffiti and street art through the adventures of the Sprayitos. He revisits the traditional codes of fairy tales with an urban universe.
