DOCTOR COBAIN
Born in 1979, Doctor Cobain is an artist from METZ, in Eastern France. As a teenager, boredom and the ambient gloom became a source of creativity for him. He developed a passion for comic books and, at the age of 15, created his own album which he titled "Antoine, roi de l'ANPE" (Antoine, King of the Unemployment Office).
A rebel at heart, drawing and painting were the only ways for him to peacefully express his art of living. It was especially his travels around the world – England, the United States, Australia, and China – that enriched him artistically. It was from these experiences that he drew his inspiration and nurtured the project of making a living from his art.
After arriving in Brest in 1997, he crossed Brittany to study art in Nantes, where he graduated with "Very Good" honors. He then developed a passion for airbrush painting, a technique he practiced for four years in the motorcycle customization industry, learning to use this tool from masters like Christophe DURAND (Meilleur Ouvrier de France). It was at this time that he truly realized he was an accomplished artist.
From 2005 to 2010, he participated in numerous exhibitions in Brittany. At the 24th Art Fair in Paris, he presented two canvases and won first prize with one of them.
He pushes the boundaries of hyperrealistic rendering through the use of fluorescent paints. As a great specialist in this technique, Dr. Cobain plays with both light and paint. He thus offers canvases with a daytime view and a nighttime view, which is what makes him unique and original.
His art extends to frescoes and canvases, as well as to plastic creation for interior furniture.
In 2010, the year he arrived in Toulon, in the South of France, Dr. Cobain partnered with the artist SEATY, with whom he now shares the same passion. They founded their company "MY DECOR – CREATEUR D'AMBIANCE" (MY DECOR – AMBIANCE CREATOR) and have their own artists' studio.
His technique on canvas continues to evolve with the use of invisible fluorescent paints. Today, after 15 years in his artistic career, he continues to develop his truly unique style with the same passion and audacity.
