DIDIER GOMEZ

Didier Gomez is a French graffiti artist born in 1975. Driven solely by the need to express his opinions on canvas, he did not deem it necessary to attend art schools, and began his artistic career as a self-taught artist. He was influenced by street artists and figures such as Basquiat and Gee Vaucher.

Didier Gomez sees art as an intention before it is a skill. For him, art belongs to everyone, and he draws his inspiration from popular forms of artistic expression: tagging, graphic design, stenciling, tattooing, etc. Didier Gomez's paintings are like platforms where he challenges the society around us, with a deliberately punk spirit.

The themes he likes to address in his works range from environmental preservation to questioning consumer society. He is also very concerned by the link between society and the urban environment, as well as by how society produces an urban environment that reveals its discomforts.
