A Parisian artist, born from post-graffiti culture

Alberto Vejarano, aka CHANOIR, was born in 1976. He lives and works in Paris. In 1996, he entered the Parisian post-graffiti culture, creating his alter ego CHANOIR. He then invented the systematic metamorphosis of his logotype.

A graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2002, where he worked under the direction of Jean-Michel Alberola, he explores the pictorial adaptations of European literature for children by America and Japan. He stages the different mythologies of cartoons from a globalized culture. He participated in "Humour in Art" then assisted François Boirond for the exhibition "Beauty" in Avignon.

He directed the documentary "Free Walls" about the Barcelona street art scene.

A recognizable style

To achieve this seemingly impulsive effect on his canvases, he uses graffiti tools to create paintings and give agility to the work, adhering to a more instinctive and swift technique.

Chanoir claims the non-political aspect of his painting. Unlike other street artists who use their graffiti to convey denunciatory messages, Chanoir revives the emotions and innocence of childhood.

Chanoir partners with major brands

An emblematic artist of his urban generation, Chanoir brings a new breath of fresh air, and major brands have understood this well. This is the case for Clipper lighters, Samsung phones, Disney Store, and Ubisoft, for whom Chanoir has collaborated, reinventing the famous lighters, creating a digital work, redecorating the windows of the Disney Concept store on the Champs Elysées, or delivering a performance in the music video for the famous video game Just Dance (2018).

Chanoir, the graffitist, but also Chanoir, the creator, signs several collections in collaboration with the Cacharel brand and decorates the entire brand's offices (2012). One of his frescoes, specially designed for the occasion, can also be found in the music video for the famous rock band the Pixies, filmed in Miami (2014). He leaves his mark on Emanuel Ungaro perfume bottles (2019), which had a global launch.

Established recognition of his work

In 2013, Chanoir and his crew created a fresco in Wynwood District (Miami), a must-see showcase of street art for the North American public. This work is still visible today.
After an exhibition that same year, some of Chanoir's works entered the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art of Bogota (MAMBO). Currently located in the city center of the capital, the museum presents more than 2,000 works by foreign and Colombian artists.

All of this gives the artist a growing notoriety, whose recognition is undeniable among collectors and mere enthusiasts alike.
