CELINE WEBER

Born on January 7, 1972, painter Céline Weber spent her youth in Sub-Saharan Africa.

She handles brushes, trowels, and knives to devote herself to her passion: painting, mainly abstract. Over time, through her encounters, emotions, daring, and influences (Niki de Saint Phalle, Joan Miró, Hans Hartung, Nicolas de Staël, Pierre Soulages…), her inspiration gives free rein to her perpetually evolving creativity. "I love matter, color, the expression of lines in all their complexity. I love taking the time to forget time… To create!" She says she paints primarily for herself, without fear of pitfalls, without seeking to conquer every gaze on her work. This freedom is the very essence of the density, relief, and aestheticism that spring from the canvases of all sizes that she nourishes with acrylics. An intimate balance is established through the variation of colors and shapes, thus creating harmony in a rich and overflowing energy of life.

Céline Weber has received: the City of Epône Prize 2017, the 2016 Painting Prize "Friends of the Paris Autumn Salon" awarded by Pierre Collomb, the it Art Bag Prize - Contemporary Art Fair 2019 at the Bastille Design Center, as well as the 2018 Art Capital Mention from the Grand Palais in Paris.
