Adrien FAVEAU's childhood, steeped in music and painting, guided the young man towards canvases and brushes very early on. Even when he undertook business studies, he enrolled in fine arts classes in parallel. Ultimately, painting became essential, surpassing a mere hobby to become a necessity.
Through his paintings, Adrien FAVEAU explores the city and urban themes. He seeks out the beauty of the everyday, the aesthetics of the mundane. Within this beautiful/mundane, he sometimes introduces moments, an ephemeral nuance: a shower, a sunset… The painting then seems to capture the moment, introducing a fleeting temporality, an accident, into the work.
While the famous places he paints locate the scene in space, they are often relegated to the background, to signify that the main subject is not the monumental, but rather the street. Thus, Adrien FAVEAU places an aesthetic of banality, a fragile beauty he seeks in the depersonalized normality of the city, at the center of his canvases.
Adrien FAVEAU likes to mix techniques, varying his gestures. Brushes, knives, but also stamps, printing rollers, everything in his hand becomes an object of creation. Then he scratches and attacks the paint, in places, with solvents.
We can therefore see that Adrien FAVEAU gives, in his work, a very personal interpretation and vision of the city. He makes our shared space a place where beauty manifests itself.
